Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI)
The HZI activities are focussed in the area of Infection & Immunity. The main goal is to elucidate the processes
of microbial pathogenesis and host response to infection, in order to develop new tools and strategies to
prevent and treat infectious diseases. There are collaboration opportunities in the areas of natural products,
pharmaceutical research, vaccinology, immunology and structural biology.

Leibniz University Hannover (LUH)
The institute of Organic Chemistry at LUH has a focus on synthetic chemistry, research in oncology and infectious diseases, as well as the isolation and identification of novel APIs (e.g. plant-derived) via innovative screening and development technologies.

Medical School Hannover (MHH)
Areas of specialization of the MHH include the entire range of superior services provided by a major medical facility.
In addition the MHH is internationally most renowned for transplant medicine and related immunological fields. Other focus areas are:

- Disorders of the immune system and infectious diseases (particularly of the liver)
- Oncology, pediatric and adult (male and female)
- Cardiac, vascular and respiratory medicine
- Restorative surgery, e.g. accident and emergency surgery, urology, and high-tech hearing aids (cochlear implants)

Fraunhofer Institute of Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM)
Services offered range from studies in the areas of occupational and environmental toxicology and consumer protection up to pre-clinical and clinical drug research and development, from allergy and asthma research up to the assessment and registration of chemicals, biocides and pesticides.

University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo)
Services including clinical treatment of patients and pathological and diagnostic examinations of materials submitted; veterinary care of agricultural stock and consultation on all questions of animal husbandry, particularly the diagnosis of infections; and chemical, biochemical, or toxicological analyses.

Technical University Carolo-Wilhelmina at Braunschweig (TU BS)
The Technical University at Braunschweig offers technical and mathematical knowhow in engineering as well as classical and molecular biology. Scientists at the Biocenter of TU BS are specialized in research in microbiology, genetics and cell biology.

TWINCORE – Center for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research
At TWINCORE medical personnel and basic research scientists from various disciplines conduct translational infection research side by side. Scientists at TWINCORE support the development of new strategies to combat infectious diseases by creating a scientific basis for risk assessment in advance of the clinical trials.

Vakzine Projekt Management GmbH (VPM)
