Translationsallianz

What is translation?

Translational research represents the interface between basic research and clinical development. The goal is to enable the latest findings from basic research to lead to new therapies or diagnostic procedures for patients in the shortest of times. At the same time, questions that arise during the clinical practice are fed back to basic research for systematic analysis.

BRICS – Braunschweig Integrated Centre for Systems Biology

The TU Braunschweig and the HZI are in the process of establishing a new, joint centre for bioinformatics and systems biology in the form of the Braunschweig Integrated Centre for Systems Biology.
The goal of the centre: researchers investigate how complex biological systems behave as a whole and how they regulate themselves ‑ and are regulated.
The researchers are aiming to discover new clues for new medicines and therapies, as well as to understand how the interaction between pathogens and hosts function in detail.
The centre is closely integrated in the research activities of experimental biology and chemistry, as well as engineering.
